Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Special Education Teacher, located in Burbank, IL. The Special Education Teacher will create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, provide direct instruction, and develop strategies to support their academic, social, and emotional growth. The role involves collaborating with families, colleagues, and support staff to ensure students succeed in inclusive and specialized settings, monitoring progress, and addressing unique educational needs effectively.
Qualifications
- Hold a registered, valid Illinois LBSI / Professional Educator License
- ISBE approval requirements to teach Early Childhood Special Education where required
- Multiple endorsements/approvals Preferred
- Experience and knowledge in working with students with disabilities
- Strong teaching skills with a focus on middle school and special education settings
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with students, families, and staff
- Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching methods to suit students’ unique needs
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment
- Experience with assistive technologies and adaptive strategies is a plus
