Job description:

Location: Centennial, CO (Valor Corporate Headquarters)
Reports To: CFO
About Valor Technical Cleaning: A.D. Valor Technical Cleaning is a Veteran-owned company specializing in after-death biohazard cleanup. Our mission is to support families during the most difficult days of their lives. We provide professional cleanup services nationwide after tragic events such as suicides, unattended deaths, and homicides. Trusted by law enforcement agencies, coroners, medical examiners, and other first responders, we offer families a reliable and compassionate solution. Our team remediates biohazard contamination, thoroughly cleans and disinfects properties, and ensures homes or apartments are restored to a safe and healthy condition.
This is a mission-driven company built for those who thrive in high-pressure, fast-moving environments. We believe in action over politics, accountability over blame, and results over excuses.
Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist
This role is not traditional collections. Success requires critical thinking, resourcefulness, and personal ownership of outcomes—not just activity.
Core Mindset
Ownership-driven: This person feels responsible for moving the file forward, not just “working” it.
Progress-oriented: Every action must move the ball down the field. Leaving a voicemail without a next step is not acceptable.
Intellectually engaged: Shallow, repetitive task work is frustrating to them. They want to think.
Internally motivated: They don’t need threats, scripts, or pressure tactics. They are driven by solving the puzzle and collecting the money the right way.
Critical Thinking & Judgment
Able to analyze complex situations, including:
The signer of the engagement letter vs. the actual financial decision-maker
Estate billing vs. individual responsibility
Insurance-paid jobs vs. self-pay vs. mixed responsibility
Two-party and three-party checks
Naturally asks:
Who is the right person to talk to?
What authority do they actually have?
What obstacle is preventing payment right now?
Comfortable making judgment calls instead of following a rigid script.
Resourcefulness
Proactively uses external resources to resolve uncertainty, including:
County property records
Public records related to estates
Online research to identify ownership or executors
Willing to dig until clarity is achieved rather than stopping at the first dead end.
Sees ambiguity as a problem to solve, not a blocker.
Communication Style
Thoughtful, professional, and empathetic—especially given the sensitive nature of death-related situations.
Can adjust messaging depending on:
Family members
Executors
Insurance adjusters
Attorneys or third parties
Focused on alignment and resolution, not pressure or intimidation.
Work Quality & Discipline
Every touch on a file is:
Deliberate
Documented
Strategic
Dislikes “check-the-box” activity metrics if they interfere with doing the job well.
Understands that fewer, higher-quality actions often outperform high-volume, low-impact activity.
What This Role Is Not
Not a call-center collections job
Not script-driven
Not volume-over-quality
Not transactional or threatening
Not suitable for someone who needs constant structure or rigid playbooks
Ideal Background Signals (Not Requirements)
Investigative or analytical roles
Legal, paralegal, insurance, or claims-adjacent experience
Estate administration exposure
People who naturally enjoy “figuring things out”
Individuals who get bothered by inefficiency or wasted motion
