Painter Helper

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Painter Helper to assist experienced painters on residential, commercial, and industrial projects. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of painting and construction. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, reliable, and capable of working safely in diverse environments. Prior construction site experience and familiarity with basic tools are a plus, but training will be provided for specific tasks. This role is essential in supporting the preparation, application, and finishing of paint and related materials across multiple projects.

Duties

• Assist with surface preparation including sanding, scraping, caulking, and plastering to ensure surfaces are ready for painting
• Mix paints and other coatings according to color theory and project specifications
• Set up and operate hand tools and power tools such as brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and scaffolding
• Support with the application of paint on walls, ceilings, trim, stucco, and other surfaces using various techniques including airless paint spraying
• Read blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements for renovation or remodeling jobs
• Help with fixture installation, restoration work, drywall finishing, masonry tasks, and basic carpentry including trim carpentry and frame carpentry
• Maintain a clean work area and ensure safety protocols are followed at all times
• Assist with demolition or removal of old materials as needed on construction sites
• Support team members in completing projects efficiently while adhering to schematics and project timelines

Experience

• Prior experience in construction painting or renovation projects is preferred but not required; training will be provided for all necessary skills
• Knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics, or masonry is a plus
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welding, concrete finishing, plastering, caulking, fixture installation, or industrial painting is advantageous
• Basic math skills are necessary for measuring materials accurately
• Experience with maintenance tasks or maintenance person work can be beneficial
• Candidates with construction site experience or residential/commercial painting backgrounds are encouraged to apply
