A.C. Vroman, Inc. based in Pasadena seeks to hire a full-time Book Department Supervisor.
The Book Department is currently seeking a full-time Book Department Supervisor. The position is non-exempt, 32-40 hours per week. Flexible availability is required, including nights and weekends, with occasional additional hours as needed.
Book Supervisor responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supervising 12-15 booksellers
- Delegating tasks, managing work flow and ensuring customer service
- Assisting the Manager and Assistant Manager with sales, training, and staff development
- Assisting with staff evaluations and documentations
- Opening and closing the store
- Conducting morning briefings meetings
- Coordinating monthly on-hand checks and returns with management team
- Hand-selling books and non-book merchandise
- Answering customer phone calls
- Shelving books
- Taking special orders
- Maintaining assigned sections
- Documenting and addressing security issues
- Performing other duties as assigned
Schedule:
- Schedule varies depending on store needs.
- Requires full availability and flexibility for any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Black Out months are November and December, during this time vacation or time off requests are rarely granted.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.65 - $18.99 per hour
