Job Summary: The registered nurse (RN) oversees medicine administration in all designated programs, trains employees to properly administer medicine, monitors individual health progress, and manages a variety of other routine and emergency medical services for individuals.
Required Competencies: Associate Degree with RN licensure; proficiency with meds, scripts, and computers; valid driver’s license in state of residency; valid automobile insurance
Primary Responsibilities: Maintain schedules for all medical appointments, medical administration recordings (MARs), health risk screen tools (HRSTs), and incident reports; provide medical training; and communicate with other medical professionals.
Additional Accountabilities: Maintain up-to-date medical scripts, prepare medical reports for Kentucky’s Division of Development and Intellectual Disabilities (DDID), ensure TB skin assessments are completed as required, follow-up assessments for all incident reports, and assist ADT/residential sites when necessary.
Preferred Competencies: Organizational skills; time management; good communication skills; and the ability to multi-task
Physical Demands: Regularly required to verbally communicate, use hands, and possess the physical capacity to reasonably perform his/her job. Some travel required.
