Reports To: CFO
FLSA Status: Full-time, exempt
Compensation: $60,000-$75,000/year
Location: Sudbury, MA
Position Summary: The Payroll & Benefits Administrator is a full-time role that is responsible for executing weekly payroll and managing employee benefit administration, while also assisting with basic Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and office management tasks when needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Payroll Administration

Process and execute accurate weekly payroll for all employees

Ensure proper calculation of wages, overtime, deductions and adjustments

Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations

Address employee payroll questions and resolve discrepancies

Coordinate with HR on employee changes as they affect payroll

Manage unemployment claims, including responding to notices and coordinating documentation

Administer Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) processes, including employee applications and coordination with state agencies
Benefits Administration

Administer employee benefit programs (health, dental, retirement, etc)

Manage new enrollments - new hires, qualifying life events & open enrollment

Serve as primary point of contact for employee benefit questions

Maintain accurate benefit records and compliance with applicable regulations

Work with CFO and brokers during policy renewals and communicating coverage or cost changes to employees as needed
Accounts Payable

Assist with data entry of invoices and receipts

Process vendor payments and apply payments to existing invoices

Maintain organized and accurate AP records
-
Support AP with various projects as needed to ensure success of the department
Preferred & Required Qualifications
-
Prior experience (3 years) running complex payroll and benefits operations for a similarly sized company

Extremely organized and detail oriented

Prior experience with any payroll software

Extensive knowledge of payroll regulations and relevant employment laws

Ability to communicate with employees in a timely and professional manner

Strong data entry skills
Working Conditions

Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment with standard office equipment.

Must be able to remain in a stationary upright position for extended periods of time occasionally

May occasionally be required to work extended hours and/or weekends depending on workload
