LAUSD Elementary School Tutor

About the Role

We're currently looking for an enthusiastic educator to join our team with the role start on September 22nd! The hours are Monday-Friday, 10 AM-4 PM. We are hiring Elementary School Tutors to provide small-group instruction (max 3 students) in English Language Arts and Math for elementary students in LAUSD public schools.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll deliver engaging lessons, reinforce classroom learning, and help students build confidence in core academic skills.

Responsibilities

• Tutor up to 3 students at a time in ELA and Math for grades K–5
• Create a supportive, engaging learning environment
• Follow school curriculum and supplement with interactive activities
• Track student progress and communicate with program staff
• Maintain accurate attendance and session notes

Qualifications

• Experience working with elementary students (tutoring, classroom, or after-school programs) is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of K–5 ELA and Math concepts
• Enthusiastic, patient, and committed to student success
• Preferred: background in education or familiarity with LAUSD curriculum

Schedule & Pay

• Schedule: Monday – Friday during after-school hours
• Pay: Competitive hourly rate, starting at $22
• Student Ratio: Maximum of 3 students per group
