LAUSD 1st-6th School Tutor

About the Role

We're currently looking for an enthusiastic educator to join our team with the role start on September 22nd! The hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 1 PM-4 PM. We are hiring Elementary and Middle School Tutors to provide small-group instruction (max 3 students) in English Language Arts for elementary students in LAUSD public schools. Spanish speakers are a plus!

This is a hands-on role where you’ll deliver engaging lessons, reinforce classroom learning, and help students build confidence in core academic skills.

Responsibilities

• Tutor up to 3 students at a time in ELA for grades K–5
• Create a supportive, engaging learning environment
• Follow school curriculum and supplement with interactive activities
• Track student progress and communicate with program staff
• Maintain accurate attendance and session notes

Qualifications

• Experience working with elementary students (tutoring, classroom, or after-school programs) is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of K–5 ELA and Math concepts
• Enthusiastic, patient, and committed to student success
• Preferred: background in education or familiarity with LAUSD curriculum

Schedule & Pay

• Schedule: Monday – Friday during after-school hours
• Pay: Competitive hourly rate, starting at $22
• Student Ratio: Maximum of 3 students per group
