Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to ensure optimal health status.
- Support medication reminders.
- Provide specialized care for clients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments, including memory care techniques.
- Assist with catheter care.
- Use equipment such as Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices to safely transfer clients with mobility challenges.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and maintaining a hygienic environment.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans effectively.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines strictly to protect patient confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments; long-term care experience is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and caregiving best practices for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or chronic conditions like Alzheimer’s disease enhances your suitability for this role.
- Ability to observe patient conditions closely and communicate effectively about changes or concerns.
- Demonstrated compassion, patience, and professionalism in providing patient-centered care.
