We are seeking a passionate and energetic Teacher for After School Children to join our team. In this role, you will create a safe, stimulating, and positive environment where children can thrive after school hours. Your enthusiasm and dedication will inspire children to explore, learn, and develop essential social skills while ensuring their well-being.
Responsibilities
- Supervise children during after school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Implement engaging activities that promote childhood development, including arts, sports, theater, and educational games
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and staff to support each child's individual needs and progress
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment conducive to learning and play
- Provide basic first aid when necessary and respond appropriately to emergencies
- Support children with special education needs by adapting activities and providing tailored assistance
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting roles
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively
- Certification in first aid and CPR preferred but not required; willingness to obtain if necessary
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and community partners
- Passion for working with children and fostering a positive learning environment
- Familiarity with Christian counseling or similar supportive approaches is a plus
