Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice Plumber to join our construction and maintenance team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in plumbing systems, construction site operations, and mechanical work. Responsibilities
- Assist experienced plumbers with installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems on construction sites.
- Learn to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to plumbing and HVAC systems.
- Use hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, and welding equipment safely and effectively.
- Support the assembly and installation of piping systems, fixtures, and appliances according to specifications.
- Participate in remodeling projects by performing basic carpentry, maintenance person tasks, and general maintenance work.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment on-site.
- Gain knowledge of construction site procedures, blueprint reading, and mechanical systems through on-the-job training.
- Assist with pipe cutting, threading, fitting, and soldering as directed by senior team members.
- Contribute to troubleshooting issues using basic math skills and schematics understanding.
- Support field service operations by performing routine inspections and minor repairs as needed.
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of construction or related trades such as carpentry or HVAC is preferred.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, pipe threading, or blueprint reading is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge or maintenance person experience is advantageous.
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and learn technical skills quickly.
- Strong work ethic with a focus on safety and quality workmanship.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and working in confined spaces.
- Prior construction site experience or remodeling background is beneficial but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates interested in developing their skills further.
