Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Custodial/Janitorial Supervisor to oversee evening cleaning operations at a prestigious private high school in Suffolk County, NY. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can effectively manage a team, maintain high cleanliness standards, and ensure all facilities are properly maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a team of 7 custodial staff members
• Coordinate and oversee daily cleaning operations to ensure quality standards are met
• Perform routine inspections of facilities on a weekly basis
• Train staff on proper cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and equipment use
• Monitor inventory and request supplies as needed
• Address and resolve issues proactively to maintain a clean and safe environment
• Assist with cleaning duties as needed, including floor care and general maintenance

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in custodial or janitorial services (managing 7 or more employees)
• Strong floor care experience (stripping, waxing, buffing, carpet extraction, etc.)
• Bilingual: English and Spanish required
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and proactive work ethic
• Ability to perform and document regular cleaning inspections

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a school or institutional environment
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and cleaning best practices

• Must be able to lift, bend, and perform physical tasks as required
