Description
This position supports a team of Structural Engineers servicing the Southeastern U.S. The successful person will perform structural analysis and design, computer modeling and calculations, client interaction, and develop drawing files for buildings and other structures.
Reports to
President of Whole House Engineering – Fort Pierce, FL
Essential Functions
- Acts as liaison for Truss manufacturers to coordinate seals and repair jobs. Reviews Truss Drawings for structural requirements and code compliance.
- Performs engineering tasks under close supervision; encouraged to solve engineering problems using experience, judgment and education but expected to ask for assistance when needed.
- Completes modeling and calculations for projects with documentation
- Perform structural analysis of frame and masonry building components including foundations, wall and roof structures, evaluating loading cases
- Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs to plan and design projects.
- Prepares reports, specifications, plans, and designs for project.
- Research/Review code and permitting requirements for project sites as directed.
- Coordinate with architectural, MEP, and other trades files.
- Coordinate with existing conditions and engineering and project teams to respond to RFI’s and resolve conflicts.
- Perform on-site investigations to gather photos and dimensions of existing sites.

Qualifications
Position type/Expected Hours of work
- Salaried full-time exempt employee
- Typical schedule is Monday through Friday with an expectation of 40 – 50 hours based on projects
Travel
Travel may include day trips to construction job sites to gather data and consult with builders, architects, and field personnel.
Required Education and Experience
- 0–1 year experience related in structural/residential engineering related work
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural Engineering from four-year college or university
- In the process, or have passed EIT examination
Required Skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient with AutoCAD
- Prior experience using Revit software
