Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service to enhance their shopping experience
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
• Handle cash, credit card payments, and cash handling procedures with precision and integrity
• Assist customers in locating products such as plants, gardening supplies, and lawn care items
• Maintain organized checkout counters and ensure stock displays are tidy and well-merchandised
• Answer customer inquiries about gardening techniques, plant care, landscape maintenance, and product recommendations
• Support inventory management through stocking shelves, organizing merchandise, and conducting stock counts
• Answer phones, handle special orders, and direct customer to specific staff members for additional assistance when needed

Experience

• Previous retail sales or cashiering experience in a fast-paced environment preferred
• Knowledge of gardening, horticulture, lawn care, landscape maintenance or floral design is a plus
• Familiarity with POS systems and retail math to handle transactions efficiently
• Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are an advantage for serving diverse customers
• Excellent organizational skills to manage stocking duties and maintain store presentation
• Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to engage positively with shoppers of all backgrounds
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating flexibility and initiative

Requirements

• All applicants MUST be willing to work Saturdays
• All applicants must be able to pass a background check and drug test
• All applicants must possess a valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record
• Must be willing to work in all weather conditions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
• Previous experience working in a nursery/garden retail setting is preferred
• Basic knowledge of plants, gardening, or horticulture is preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of walking, standing, lifting, and moving items
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently and occasionally up to 100lbs with assistance
• Must be able to push, pull, bend, lift, stretch, and climb in order to care for plants and stock merchandise
