Duties
- Monitor residents continuously to ensure safety during detoxification, responding promptly to any signs of distress or medical emergencies
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols, maintaining detailed medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Conduct regular assessments of vital signs and overall physical condition, documenting findings meticulously in medical records
- Assist residents with daily activities, including personal hygiene, nutrition, and comfort needs, fostering a supportive environment
- Implement behavior management strategies and crisis intervention techniques to de-escalate challenging situations effectively
- Collect and record behavioral data and progress notes to inform treatment plans and coordinate with clinical staff
- Support residents with special needs such as autism or developmental disabilities through tailored behavioral health interventions and applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable
- Knowledge of crisis management, crisis intervention, and behavior management strategies is essential
- Familiarity with addiction counseling, PTSD care, social work principles, and medical terminology enhances your effectiveness in this role
- Ability to accurately measure vital signs and perform medical documentation in accordance with HIPAA standards
- Strong skills in data collection, medical records management, and intake procedures are required
- Excellent communication skills for working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and supporting residents’ needs
- Certification as a Residential Detox Technician (RADT) or equivalent is preferred; relevant training will be provided for qualified candidates eager to grow professionally
