Position Summary
84 Lumber is seeking a results-driven General Manager to lead our Truss Manufacturing Plant in La Vergne, TN. This role is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and profitability of the facility while ensuring safe, efficient operations and continued business growth.
The General Manager is responsible for strategic planning and direction of business growth, achieving profit contributions through effective staff management, and establishing and accomplishing all business objectives. This position actively participates in all aspects of Components Sales, Design, and Manufacturing.

Oversee inventory control
Oversee equipment maintenance program
Oversee continuous improvement program in all areas
Evaluation and development of staff and leadership
Increase management effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orienting, coaching, disciplining managers.
Communicating values, strategies and objectives
Developing an environment where the offering of information and opinions are appreciated and expected.
Develop strategic goals by studying technology and financial opportunities; then recommending ideas.
Creating action plans for departments; design, production, and sales
Build company image by collaborating with customers, community organizations and employees.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily truss and component manufacturing operations.
- Manage plant P&L, budgets, cost control, and profitability.
- Drive production efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Lead inventory management, including weekly lumber and hardware counts.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and conduct regular plant inspections.
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and plant associates.
- Partner with Sales and Design teams to grow component sales and customer relationships.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.

- Associate retention and productivity
- Leadership experience in manufacturing, construction, or building materials.
