Software Engineering Team Lead
Overview:
Reporting to the President, the Software Engineering Team Leader supports the development and delivery of web-based applications by leading a small development team while remaining hands-on with coding. This role is ideal for a developer ready to grow into leadership, combining front-end technologies such as Vue.js with back-end technologies like PHP and MySQL. The role requires strong communication skills for interfacing directly with customers and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a small team of software engineers in daily development tasks
- Act as a technical point of contact for customers on assigned projects
- Assist with task breakdown, effort estimation, and sprint planning
- Foster a positive, professional, and learning-oriented team environment
Qualifications:
- 8 years building enterprise-grade web / Saas applications
- 5 years in PHP-based development
- Experience with MySQL, including database design and query optimization
- Web technologies such as Vue.JS / React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Familiarity with popular web application frameworks such as Laravel (PHP) and Django (Python)
Useful Experience:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS), Kubernetes, Docker, Django / Python
- RESTful APIs and backend integrations
- Git, Agile/Scrum workflows, and issue tracking tools
- Basic web security best practices (SQL injection, XSS, authentication)
- Mentoring peers or leading small development teams
- Work in customer-facing or consulting environments
