Job purpose
We are seeking a professional, detail-oriented, compassionate Clinical Psychologist. To provide counseling services at the Military Medical Center (MOMMC), 99th Medical Treatment Facility (MTF), Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. Contract for 8-koi: a diverse Florida-based service and consulting company that has been providing outing results for our clients for over 20 years. The contractor shall provide general support for medical operations.
Primary mission is to maintain medical readiness for worldwide contingencies by providing quality, cost-effective health care for Military Medical Center.
Duties and responsibilities
- Practice within the guidelines of their state licensing board, American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and MTF privileges.
- Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources, as appropriate.
- Accurately diagnoses all major psychiatric disorders in accordance with the most current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders of the American Psychiatric Association.
- Promptly determines the appropriate treatment setting and provides a variety of effective treatment modalities in an outpatient setting, which include psychopharmacology and the traditional interactive psychotherapies

- Routinely is effective in facilitating inpatient admissions to psychiatric inpatient facilities
- Almost always handles and safeguards classified or sensitive information in an appropriate manner to preclude
- Typically responds to consultation requests in accordance with the time indicated by the referring medical provider
- Thoroughly conducts assessments and offers appropriate guidance for other providers in the treatment of patients who present with secondary psychiatric complaints.
- Almost always serves effectively as a member of the mental health flight multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Almost always provides timely and accurate psychiatric consultation.to commanders in all acute circumstances
- Routinely evaluates members on TDRL status and renders appropriate recommendations and dispositions in accordance with pertinent local MTF policies.
- Often prepares thorough and accurate psychiatric assessments for Medical Evaluation Boards in accordance with the guidance provided by local MTF Policies
- Normally renders fitness/suitability for duty determinations, and ensures that all members referred for security clearances, flying operations, personnel reliability program, and special assignments are capable of such responsibilities from a mental health perspective
- Usually conducts a professional training activity for mental health flight staff, interns, students and residents in accordance with established guidelines and time frames.
- Consistently engages in program development and outcome research to improve clinic services to beneficiaries.
- The contractor will abide by medical staff bylaws upon acceptance of privileges.
Qualifications
Degree/Education:
- Doctor of Philosophy (PH.D.) or Psy. D.) degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited psychology program or a program acceptable to the Office of the Surgeon General, U.S. Air Force.
Licensure:
- Must maintain a current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Experience:
- Must have a minimum of two years’ (2) experience as a clinical psychologist post completion of an APA accredited Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) or Doctor of Philosophy (PHD) program.
- Additionally, the candidate is required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions.

Working conditions
- Work Schedule: Friday: 0730 – 1630 or Monday – Thursday 0730 – 1830
- Duty Hours: Monday – Friday 0730 – 1630 or Monday – Thursday 0730 – 1830
- On-Call Hours: This on-call requirement is rotated among all mental health clinic providers. The on call will start on Tuesday at 1530 and end the following Tuesday at 0730. Will start with 600 hours and will not exceed 1380 hours per FTE. The contractor will provide on call coverage as scheduled and may be required to work extended hours due to clinical necessity in urgent situations. This on call requirement is rotated among all mental health clinic providers. If contract does not work on a holiday but has, call on contract and may pull call on holiday weekend leave (Candidate can be on call during a holiday).
- Overage Hours (IAW Base Contract PWS): Overage hours will be awarded when performing face to face requirements after normal duty hours. Will start with 15 hours and will not exceed 50 hours per FTE. Contract workers will be required to report in-person to the MTF (Medical Treatment Facility), during on call hours if needed.
