Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of general surgical procedures
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and quality care
- Participate in surgical rounds and patient consultations
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Stay current with advancements in surgical techniques and practices
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with medical regulations and standards
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Active medical license to practice in the state
- Experience in general surgery preferred
- Strong surgical skills and clinical judgment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Strong commitment to patient care and safety
- Willingness to participate in continuous education and professional development
Schedule: 24-hour call
Duties: Weekend call coverage, rounding on inpatients with surgery consults
Required Procedures: General surgery and some GI
Support Staff: OR call team, Hospitalist, inpatient nursing
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
Paid travel & expenses
