Job Overview:

The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for developing and implementing a sales strategy that will drive revenue growth and increase market share. This role requires a strong background in sales, marketing, and hospitality management. The Director of Sales will manage a sales team, develop and maintain relationships with clients, and identify new business opportunities. They will also monitor industry trends, forecast sales, and develop pricing strategies to maximize revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management: Oversee and manage the sales staff and reservations to ensure maximum revenue, promotional coverage, and marketing opportunities.

  • Client Service: Ensure the best client service through effective communication, cross-training within the department, and appropriate office coverage.

  • Sales Strategy: Work with sales managers to understand and implement sales strategies for different segments.

  • Revenue Goals: Ensure the hotel meets or exceeds budgeted goals.

  • Market Analysis: Analyze market trends to understand customer needs and identify new business opportunities.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as marketing and revenue management, to ensure all sales efforts are aligned and integrated into the overall business strategy.

  • Promotions: Assist with the development and implementation of internal and external promotions.

  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with potential clients, including corporate clients, event planners, and travel agencies.

  • Sales Reporting: Create and maintain sales reports to track performance and progress toward goals.

  • Industry Networking: Attend industry conferences and events to network and gather information about the latest trends and strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, or sales is preferred.

  • Experience: Several years of experience working in sales or marketing, preferably in the hospitality industry.

  • Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills, strong leadership and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes.
