730 North Optometry is an established, family-oriented optometry clinic located in an upscale Chicago suburb. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality eye care in a warm, professional, and patient-focused environment. We are currently seeking a full-time Eyewear Sales Associate / Optician to join our growing team. Weekday hours only (no weekends). At least 1 year of optical or eyewear sales experience preferred.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has a strong attention to detail, and takes pride in helping patients look and see their best.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients in a friendly, professional manner
- Guide patients in selecting eyewear that fits their prescription, lifestyle, and personal style
- Read and interpret eyeglass prescriptions
- Take accurate optical measurements for eyewear orders
- Adjust and fit frames for comfort and proper vision
- Troubleshoot patient concerns with new or existing eyewear
- Communicate effectively with doctors regarding prescription questions or concerns
- Operate optical equipment such as a lensometer
- Calculate patient costs after insurance and office discounts
- Enter eyewear orders accurately and efficiently into the system
- Maintain a clean, organized optical area
- Assist in other areas of the office as needed to support patient flow and team operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Comfort working with numbers and basic math calculations
- Familiarity with computers, POS systems, and calculators
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and team-focused
- Optical experience preferred
