For more information, visit: www.ccare.com Position Summary: The Advanced Practice Provider will deliver direct medical management within scope of license, in collaboration with Medical Oncologists at California Cancer Associates (cCARE). Key Responsibilities: Performs physical examinations applying the medical model and nursing process to patient care problems. Strives to maintain consistency of quality patient care. Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings, consulting with physician advisor when indicated; evaluates diagnoses, and manages certain illnesses and conditions; orders appropriate laboratory studies; identifies appropriate pharmacologic agents and non-pharmacologic interventions; refers or consults with other physicians. Conducts hospital consults & participates in rounding of inpatients if needed. Develops and implements patient education activities. Builds trusting relationships with patients and referring providers. Provides leadership in care coordination and serves as a clinical resource to medical assistants and chemotherapy nurse. Enhances professional growth through reviewing current literature, attending educational meetings, and workshops. Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration: Master's Degree as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Studies Interest in oncology EMR / computer skills Required Certification/Licensure (for NPs): Ability to work a flexible schedule (including overtime, and weekends, as necessary). Current California Registered Nurse license California Nurse Practitioner License California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing License within 6 months of hire DEA within 6 months of hire National Nurse Practitioner Board Certification through accrediting body Current Basic Life Support Required Certification/Licensure (for PAs): Ability to work a flexible schedule (including overtime, and weekends, as necessary). Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant Studies program NCCPA board certified Licensed as a Physician Assistant in California. Current DEA controlled substance licenses. Complete 100 hours of CME according to the national regulations during each 2-year period of employment. Minimum of one-year practicing as Physician Assistant within the past 2 years. Additional Information: Base compensation: commensurate with experience Job Type: Full-time Pay Range: $130,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year Benefits: medical/vision/dental insurance coverage; malpractice coverage; PTO; professional fees/CME allowance; 401K Job Status: Full-time, 32 hours a week (negotiable) 2 year commitment preferred Mission-driven towards comprehensive patient care, i.e., a desire to develop depth in caring for patient as a whole and setting down roots in the provider community.
