What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior NetSuite Administrator position at 7 Brew Coffee?
WHAT’S BREWING IN THIS ROLE...
The Senior NetSuite Administrator owns the health, security, reliability, and controlled evolution of the company’s NetSuite environment. This role serves as the primary internal authority for platform administration, access controls, release management, customizations, integrations, user support, documentation, and external partner coordination.
Working across IT, Finance, and other business functions, the Senior NetSuite Administrator helps ensure that NetSuite remains stable, secure, auditable, and maintainable as the company grows. This role evaluates proposed system changes and accepts ongoing support responsibility for production solutions before they go live.
THE FLAVOR YOU ADD...
Platform Administration and Security
• Administer the NetSuite security model, including roles, permissions, user access, and segregation-of-duties controls.
• Maintain and troubleshoot SuiteScript, workflows, saved searches, forms, records, and other NetSuite customizations.
• Evaluate proposed changes for supportability, security, controls, and long-term maintainability.
• Support audit requests and strengthen controls appropriate for a growing, multi-entity organization.
Release Management and Environment Controls
• Own platform change control, release planning, deployment coordination, and production validation.
• Plan and execute NetSuite’s twice-yearly version upgrades, including impact assessment, sandbox testing, stakeholder coordination, and issue remediation.
• Define and maintain the sandbox strategy, refresh cadence, environment controls, and promotion path.
• Own controlled SuiteCloud Development Framework (SDF) deployments across sandbox and production, including project structure, dependency management, validation, source control, deployment records, rollback planning, and release documentation.
• Confirm operational readiness and accept maintenance ownership before new NetSuite capabilities enter production.
Customizations, AI, and Integrations
• Understand common SuiteScript types and execution patterns well enough to assess issues, support existing customizations, and determine when developer assistance is needed.
• Evaluate and responsibly use NetSuite AI functionality and AI-assisted development capabilities. Apply appropriate review, testing, security, data-governance, and change-control standards before production use.
• Monitor NetSuite integrations, coordinate issue resolution, and partner with integration owners on root-cause analysis.
Support, Documentation, and Partner Management
• Provide Tier 2 functional and technical support, triage incidents, and manage escalations.
• Maintain system documentation, configuration inventories, support procedures, and operational wikis.
• Manage external NetSuite partners, including scope, deliverables, service quality, knowledge transfer, and spend.
• Balance user needs with security, control, reliability, and maintainability requirements.
FIRST-YEAR PRIORITIES...
• Transition functional NetSuite support from external partners and establish stable internal ownership.
• Complete and maintain a reliable inventory of configurations, customizations, integrations, access roles, and operational dependencies.
• Collaborate with IT leadership to establish a documented change-control and release-management process, including repeatable SDF and source-control practices.
• Establish standards for reviewing, testing, securing, and deploying AI-assisted NetSuite changes.
• Execute both annual NetSuite version upgrades without unplanned production disruption.
• Establish clear readiness and support-acceptance criteria for production changes.
• Reduce reliance on external functional support while maintaining service quality and platform stability.
MUST-HAVE INGREDIENTS...
• 6 years of hands-on NetSuite administration experience in a multi-subsidiary environment.
• Strong command of NetSuite roles, permissions, workflows, saved searches, forms, records, and release management.
• Working knowledge of SuiteScript, including the ability to understand common script types, troubleshoot existing customizations, and coordinate more complex development when needed.
• Hands-on experience with SuiteCloud Development Framework (SDF), including object representation, dependency management, validation, source control, deployment between environments, and production release controls.
• Familiarity with NetSuite’s current and emerging AI capabilities, along with sound judgment about where AI-assisted configuration or development is appropriate and how its output should be reviewed and governed.
• Demonstrated ownership of sandbox strategy, testing, deployment, and the NetSuite release cycle.
• Experience operating a disciplined, documented change-control process.
• Experience managing NetSuite implementation or support partners and holding them accountable to defined scope and outcomes.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to balance user needs with security, control, reliability, and maintainability requirements.
