Position Title: Lab Technician
Location: On-site in Burgettstown, PA
Reports to: Laboratory Manager
Shift: Night
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
6K Additive, Inc. specializes in converting sustainably sourced scrap metals into AM metal powder and Alloy additions. To support our continued growth, we are seeking a hands-on Lab Technician. The position will report directly to the Laboratory Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
· Strictly adhere to company EH&S policies and safety standards
· Perform testing in accordance with established quality management system procedures
· Conduct routine chemistry and physical analyses on in-process and finished products
· Perform oil and moisture content determinations
· Conduct standard instrument maintenance, including reagent changes and gas supply management
· Apply troubleshooting protocols to laboratory equipment as needed
· Maintain accurate calibration records and equipment logs
· Provide proactive quality and technical support to cross-functional teams
· Participate in experiments, ensuring accurate data recording and reporting
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in science or engineering preferred, or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an analytical laboratory
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Flexibility to work off-shifts and weekends after the training period (required)
· Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
· Effective communication skills to collaborate with Technical and Production teams
· Working knowledge of ISO/AS quality standards
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Comfort working with strong acids and bases
· Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
· Experience with metal powders preferred
· Experience with calibration processes a plus
· Strong preference for candidates with experience in ICP, combustion analysis, and/or metals characterization
