Responsibilities
- Coordinate and dispatch towing services promptly using vehicle dispatch software
- Communicate clearly with drivers via multi-line phone systems, ensuring accurate directions, updates, and support during roadside assistance or vehicle recovery.
- Manage incoming calls efficiently, providing excellent phone etiquette while gathering essential information for service requests.
- Track and update real-time GPS data to monitor fleet movements, optimize routes, and ensure timely responses aligned with DOT regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of all dispatch activities, including data entry into logistics platforms and internal communication logs.
- Collaborate with customer service teams to address client inquiries professionally while providing status updates on towing or freight services.
- Support shipping & receiving processes by coordinating freight movement, ensuring compliance with road transportation operations standards, and managing vehicle schedules.
Experience
- Proven experience in dispatching within road transportation operations or logistics environments.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms like Vehicle Dispatch Software.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—and phone call management expertise.
- Knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS technology, and supply chain principles related to freight movement and fleet management.
- Understanding of DOT regulations governing vehicle operations and safety standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for data entry, reporting, and internal communication purposes.
