Computational Physicist

Computational Physicist Key Role: Leverages physics expertise to test and analyze physical phenomena to support S&T client challenges. Applies advanced skills or extensive technical expertise, full industry knowledge. Develops innovative solutions to complex problems. Works without considerable direction, mentors and may supervise team members. Basic Qualifications: 5 years of experience with conducting systems engineering or research developing and advancing physics-based models, including atmospheric transport or biological weapons effects 5 years of experience with computational dynamics and modeling, including solving partial differential equations using numerical methods such as finite element, finite volume, and finite difference Experience in creating software tools that generate images with realistic, physics-based artifacts and qualities, supporting anomaly detection and classification Experience with physics principles, mathematical modeling, and programming languages such as Python, C , or Fortran Ability to evaluate all project aspects, including design, development, execution, and implementation of chemical and biological research Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam Bachelor's degree in Physics or Applied Mathematics Additional Qualifications: Experience as a principal investigator Experience with DoD agencies Experience with military operations, biological command, control, communications, survivability, and hard target defeat Knowledge of systems engineering, data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning Knowledge of weapons control technology TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph Master's degree in Physics or Applied Mathematics Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required. Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
