General Description
The primary role of the Field Technology Specialist is to serve as conduit between outside vendors, brokers and other outside stakeholders for the purpose of evaluation, development, testing and deployment of services used by 5Star and its partners for the purposes of benefit communication, enrollment and benefit management/administration.
This role will work closely with the sales and operations team members to identify needs, scope of services and the appropriate internal stakeholders to vet and implement select third party relationships that bring outside technology for use of 5Star brokers and benefit enrollers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with Sales, Operations, IT, Account Management, Compliance, and vendor stakeholders to evaluate, test, and implement third-party enrollment and benefit administration platforms.
- Assess outside tools and applications for operational fit, data integrity, security considerations, and alignment with business needs; provide recommendations to leadership regarding platform viability.
- Develop and execute test plans and test cases for new or modified enrollment tools, vendor platforms, file layouts, product configurations, and system integrations.
- Perform quality assurance reviews of platform setup, data file exchanges, system outputs, and benefit configurations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with approved requirements.
- Create and maintain documentation for each enrollment vendor. Documentation would include setting up, onboarding, and continued maintenance of each vendor
- Validate data integrity before, during, and after implementation, including review of enrollment files, transmission results, exception reports, and remediation outcomes.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system, data, or process issues related to enrollment technology.
- Support user acceptance testing, implementation readiness, and post-implementation reviews to confirm approved platforms and processes function as intended.
- Maintain documentation of testing results, platform requirements, issue resolution, approved workflows, quality control procedures, and implementation decisions.
- Provide training and field support to Account Managers, sales team members, brokers, and other users on approved platforms, as needed.
- Monitor recurring errors, defects, and process gaps; recommend improvements to strengthen quality, efficiency, data security, and the broker/employer group experience.
- Work with Project Manager on all platforms that require any connectivity or data exchanges with any of our internal resources, creating tickets and prioritizing defined project governance.
- Work with Account Managers and sales team members, provide training and field support for approved platforms on an as needed basis.
- Perform other duties and special projects assigned that support Worksite Sales and Operations.
Education, Licensure, Certification, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in technology or database management.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Access, and related Microsoft tools for data validation, reconciliation, reporting, and analysis.
- Experience with enrollment, benefits administration, broker, vendor, and third-party platform testing environments used to validate functionality, configuration, and file exchange processes, strongly desired.
