SMT Machine Operator – Lead

We are hiring a Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Machine Operator Lead to join our electronics manufacturing team. This is a working lead role — you'll operate SMT machinery while overseeing day-to-day team operations alongside the Process Supervisor.

Duties:

• Set up and operate MyData SMT placement machines
• Verify BOMs, PPJ files, datasheets, and assembly documentation
• Inspect solder paste, component polarity, rotation, and placement accuracy
• Create and test new packages and layouts for complex/panelized PCBs
• Identify, segregate, and report rejected or defective components
• Assign tasks to team members and ensure schedule adherence
• Communicate cycle and run times to downstream departments
• Assist in Root Cause Analysis for defects
• Coach, guide, and lead team members by example
• Attend scheduling meetings in the Production Manager's absence
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Process Engineering, Coding, and other departments
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

What We're Looking For:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• 1–2 years of SMT or related manufacturing experience (required)
• 2 years operating comparable SMT machinery (preferred)
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation
• Proficient computer skills
• Reliable attendance and schedule flexibility, including overtime as needed
• Ability to work independently and consistently meet production goals

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening.

Pay: $19.50 per hour
