We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of HR Services to lead one of our most visible and high‑impact programs. SUMMARY:      

The Director is charged with leading the HR Services program, which provides expert advice and

strategic recommendations to nonprofit organizations for resolving daily and ongoing HR

challenges. The role directs and manages a departmental staff of two professionals, while

overseeing program development and business growth, and requires adept alignment of

organizational goals with innovative HR solutions.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs all aspects of the HR Services Program, including service delivery, program growth, and strategic planning.
  • Designs and executes strategic initiatives in collaboration with senior leadership to enhance program effectiveness, sustainability, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Supports the Sales team in marketing and promoting the Program to prospective nonprofit organizations.
  • Partners with the Marketing team on promotional events and collateral to enhance Program visibility and engagement.
  • Maintains relationships with key national customers, often through in-person representation and training at customer conferences and events.
  • Drives ongoing improvement in the Program’s Resource Library and live trainings.
  • Designs and delivers educational training through webinars and in-person events.
  • Creates educational content, including newsletters articles, legislative updates, and HR resource materials.
  • Builds and maintains a network of HR experts and vendor partners to enhance the Program’s resources and services.
  • Provides HR guidance and counsel to clients, including research and reporting on federal and state legislative issues.
  • Leads a team of two employees, providing training, motivation, and professional development.
  • Establishes departmental goals, priorities, and performance expectations.
  • Manages the Program budget.
  • Stays informed on HR laws, trends, and best practices through continuous research and professional development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • HR certification (SPHR/SHRM-SCP preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in human resources.
  • Extensive knowledge of human resources principles, best practices, and employment law.
  • Significant experience working with, and a passion for nonprofit organizations.
  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement long-term initiatives.
  • Proven aptitude for managing a team toward individual and group success.
  • Willingness and skill to work across departments to achieve organizational goals.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and shifting program needs, maintaining
  • enthusiasm and effectiveness while ensuring continued program success.
  • Cultural competence and adaptability in working with diverse teams and organizations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer.
  • Frequent use of office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, and reaching as needed.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Hybrid role, requiring three days in the office and two remote workdays.
  • Employees must have access to a dedicated workspace and a reliable internet connection to effectively perform job duties when working remotely.
  • Primarily works in an office environment with standard business equipment and technology.
  • Up to 25% travel for client conferences, training sessions, and industry events.
  • Work schedule may vary depending on business priorities and event participation.


Compensation

  • Annual salary range: $178,000–$197,000, depending on experience and qualifications
