What are the responsibilities and job description for the DTG Lead Machine Operator - 1st Shift position at 4imprint, Inc.?
HOURS: Monday – Friday 6:30am-2:30pm
As a Lead Direct To Garment (DTG) Machine Operator, you make the 4imprint brand come alive by providing customers high quality digitally printed garments produced in a manufacturing environment.

Here’s what a typical day might look like. Other duties may be assigned.*
- Demonstrate the eight core principles that guide every 4imprint teammate on a daily basis: Honesty, Curiosity, Collaboration, Flexibility, Accountability, Empathy, Positive Attitude, Humility.
- Setting up and operating a DTG printer to customize garments with customer supplied designs.
- Ensure accuracy on each order.
- Manage computer files and project statuses as necessary in order management software.
- Adjust and repost art files using the Caldera software.
- Prioritize order completion based on the due date and execute DTG tasks including reviewing work orders, machine setup, and dual department orders.
- Inspect print quality and graphic placement to ensure high-quality, accurate prints.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Comply with safety procedures, rules and regulations.
- Seeks continuous improvement to help define parameters, maximize print quality and reduce consumables.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to help all shifts.
- Assist in training others in DTG printing standards and processes.
- Help establish controls and measures for repeatable, predictable product quality.
- Participates in beginning / end of shift meetings with the production team. Focuses on teamwork and uniting all shifts.
- Communicate across departments to ensure accuracy of art changes.
- Keeps an organized workflow for smooth and consistent output.
- Perform print head cleaning cycles and basic maintenance as necessary to lessen mis-prints. Manually flush & switch out print heads as necessary across all machines to reduce downtime for all operators.
- Stay current with shipping procedures and help to keep other DTG associates current with shipping best practices
- Participate in training classes and actively seek professional development.
- Help out in other areas when needed and when time allows.

Required education/skills/experience: *
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Prior experience operating an automatic screen-printing press is required. Experience operating a DTG machine is a bonus.
- Ability to adapt to a swiftly changing work environment.
- Detail oriented with a professional attitude.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
