Our growing, state-of-the-art facility in Erie has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Specialist to join our Purchasing team. Our Procurement Specialists are responsible for tactical and strategic procurement, transportation, procurement planning, customer service, supplier development and inventory management. In this role, you will contribute to efficient and effective supply of materials leading to high levels of customer service; provide analytical support to cross functional teams such as Operations, Shipping & Receiving, Sales, Six Sigma or Lean, and help in growing 4Front’s group of suppliers into a world-class network of business partners.

What you’ll do:

• Purchase parts, equipment, and materials by preparing request for quotations and submitting purchase orders with approved suppliers
• Issues purchase orders and agreements that accurately reflect price, schedule, terms, and conditions as negotiated with suppliers
• Maintains accurate lead times for assigned commodities. Determines the most cost efficient and reliable materials needed for the manufacturing process
• Regularly communicate with team of impending supplier failure to fulfill contractual agreements that may delay production or delivery
• Facilitates and resolves shipment quality discrepancies by mediating supplier/manufacturing issues
• Expediting: create sense of urgency to improve lead times with suppliers, as required
• Identifies, investigates, and recommends potential suppliers, researching parts, equipment, and machinery, services, and materials availability in combination with detailed cost analysis, price justification, and risk assessment of suppliers
• Develops alternate sources of supply by identifying and researching prospective suppliers
• Evaluates bids for standard and non-standard items. Selects suppliers for lower cost items or items of limited scope and complexity and negotiates price, delivery, quality, and service
• Develops and benchmarks best practices among the Company’s suppliers and maintain accurate measurements and records for evaluation of suppliers

• Proficient in navigating and working within an ERP system
• Customer service experience in a manufacturing environment
• Previous OEM or EMS industry experience highly desirable
• Strong analytical, problem solving and innovative solution capabilities
• Excellent communication ability using strong listening skills and logical, systematic approach to assimilating and sharing information in all areas
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects of varying complexity, meet deadlines and work well in fast-faced environment

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Job requires that employee is able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
• Must be able to lift 25 - 50 pounds
• Must have excellent eyesight and hearing (cannot be color blind)
• Work environment includes machines and tools with sharp moving parts and hot surfaces
• Employees may be exposed to moderate noise levels and processes that utilize solder, potting material, conformal coating and cleaning agents, which have various odors
• Employees must wear safety glasses ,ESD smocks, ESD straps at all times when on the production floor (all of these items are provided by 4Front)
