Role Description
This is a full-time, temporary, on-site role for a Regional EHS Intern located in WI. The intern will be expected to travel to each of our sites in Muskego, Kenosha and Mequon regularly. The intern will assist in implementing and maintaining Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs across the region. Key responsibilities include monitoring compliance with health and safety standards, conducting environmental awareness initiatives, supporting occupational health measures, and aiding in the development and delivery of training sessions. The role will also involve data collection, analysis, and reporting to support EHS strategies.
Qualifications
Requires education of at least (2) academic years or (4) semesters from a accredited secondary educational institution studying Occupational Environmental, Health, and Safety, or similar.
- Description of Duties/Responsibilities/Requirements:
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting safety and environmental functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
- Responsible for understanding and responding to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs.
- Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
- Maintain facilities' Safety Data Sheets and other safety files and records.
- Maintain working knowledge of new developments in government regulations.
- Conducts investigation of accidents and injuries. Implements administrative or engineering controls to mitigate or eliminate safety hazards.
- Coordinate and train employees on safety and health requirements to ensure compliance with regulations. Ensuring the workforce understands and comprehends the training topics.
- Conduct hazard assessments and develop controls to mitigate hazards
- Assist in ergonomic program to develop more ergonomic work stations and process
- Has a valid drivers license and reliable transportation to routinely travel to local sites within the southeastern Wisconsin area.
