Overview
49th Fabrication is a small business based out of Anchorage, Alaska. We are searching for key personnel to lay a solid foundation for growth and expansion throughout the north slope. Insulators and scaffold crews will work in a crew of 2-3 personnel at various North Slope sites. Rotational shifts of 2x2 or 3x3 schedules. Scope of work consists of removal and installation of insulation on pipeline and facilities, scaffold erection and demolition.
Primary Responsibilities
- Taking direction from the GMT Foreman or Insulation Lead
- Independently perform insulation tasks
- Ensuring that permits have been opened/closed
- Ensuring that job safety analysis have been filled out prior to task start if needed
- Ability to complete the task in a timely manor
- Ensure that the quality of work is paramount per 49th's standards and expectations
- Lead, guide and train Insulator Helpers
- Be able to interpret blueprints and sketches when applicable
- Measure, shape and cut materials to specified measurements
- Insulate, cover, wrap, staple, glue, fit insulating materials
- Fabricate and install architectural sheet metal and panels
- Finish insulation using sealants, tape, and metals
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· 1 - 3 years of related experience in remote operations in Alaska with focus on North Slope and/or oil and gas industry experience preferred not required
· 1 - 2 years of directly related experience in corrosion and insulation is preferred not required
· North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC), required or willing to obtain
· 40 hour Asbestos Abatement card preferred
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Valid driver’s license.
