Role: Devops Production Support
Location: Sandy, UT (In-Office, Flexible work options available)
Reports To: Software Engineer
The DevOps Production Support Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining our production environments, resolving issues, and supporting ongoing infrastructure enhancements. You will collaborate closely with DevOps, Engineering, and Product teams to ensure uptime, troubleshoot production incidents, and help optimize the tools and systems that keep 401GO’s platform running smoothly.
This role is ideal for someone who excels in fast-paced environments, enjoys problem-solving, and has a strong operational mindset with a DevOps foundation.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Provide production support for critical systems: monitor, troubleshoot, escalate, and resolve issues.
- Serve as a bridge between operations and development: work closely with the Django/Python engineering team, help with deployments, rollbacks, incident response, root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
- Manage, maintain and improve our cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud.
- Automate operational tasks: scripting, configuration as code, CI/CD pipelines, runbooks, alerting/observability.
- Participate in on-call rotation (or equivalent support schedule) and respond to incidents, perform post-mortems and implement preventive improvements.
- Work with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, security, etc.) to ensure high availability, performance, reliability and scalability of our platform.
What You Bring:
- Experience with Python and preferably the Django framework (you’ll often be working alongside Django devs).
- Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) — provisioning, deploying, maintaining production workloads.
- Hands-on experience in a production/operations or support role: monitoring, troubleshooting, incident management, root-cause analysis.
- Familiarity with DevOps tooling and practices: CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (Terraform, Deployment Manager, etc.), containers (Docker, possibly Kubernetes) and cloud-native services.
- Strong scripting/automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash, or similar) to automate operational work.
- Excellent communication skills: able to work with dev teams, product, operations and escalate clearly.
- A proactive attitude: you don’t just respond to incidents, you think about prevention and continuous improvement of the systems.
