GENERAL SUMMARY
To coordinate the seasonal food service program at Camp Don Bosco. To manage the food service program which fundamentally contributes to not only the general inviting atmosphere of camp but also adds extends the ministry of the Archbishop to share and reveal Christ's love to our students and community as outlined in the position description.
ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES:
- · Function as general all around cook for all meals and special events.
- · Prepare and serve tasteful meals and snacks based on provided menu in sufficient quantity, minimizing waste.
- · Supervise seasonal Kitchen Staff and any additional support staff involved in the food service program.
- · Receive and store food and cleaning supplies in accordance with local health standards.
- · Use appropriate kitchen equipment including electrical and mechanical safely to follow local health standards.
- · In seasonal operation, clean and prepare food service areas for use, deep clean and prep kitchen for off-season.
- · Ensure Kitchen Staff operate dishwasher while maintaining appropriate temperature and that they log the dishwasher temperatures.
- · Monitor cleanliness of dishes, food contact surfaces, and kitchen area.
- · Log fridge and freezer temperatures.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Primary:
a. Willingness and ability to support the mission of the Church by extending the ministry of the Archbishop.
b. Ability and desire to use God-given gifts and talents in service of the local Church.
c. A good example for youth in appearance, attitudes, as well as in moral, ethical and spiritual behavior.
Education:
a. HS Diploma or significant qualifying experience.
Experience:
a. Previous experience in staff management.
b. Previous cooking and kitchen management experience
Other Elements:
- · Commitment to the mission and values of CYO.
- · Strong communication skills, verbal.
- · Ability to work under pressure in time constraints.
- · Must be able to lift/unload/move food and supplies.
- · Current CPR/First aid and Food Handlers required or willingness to obtain prior to camp season.
- · Ability to work evenings and/or weekends and live on site in rustic facilities while programs are in session.
- · Must be over 18
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
