4 Corner Resources is hiring a Cloud Engineer. This is a 6-month contract to start, with strong potential for extension as additional projects come online. This is a chance to build a brand new Azure environment from the ground up and put your stamp on the architecture from day one.
Cloud Engineer Responsibilities:
- Design and stand up new Azure IaaS/PaaS infrastructure, including compute, networking, and storage
- Build the subscription/landing-zone structure and core platform services for a new environment
- Configure and validate new workloads and services in Azure, coordinating with application owners and business stakeholders
- Build Terraform modules to provision and manage the environment as code from the initial build
- Partner with the development team to establish Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
- Write PowerShell and Linux shell scripts to automate deployment, configuration, and validation
- Support a large-scale on-premise server environment (approximately 1,500 servers) alongside the Azure build-out
- Define and apply cloud security controls and baseline configurations
- Document architecture, configurations, and operational runbooks to support a clean handoff to the steady-state operations team
Cloud Engineer Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing new Microsoft Azure environments (IaaS/PaaS) from the ground up
- Experience supporting on-premise servers at scale
- Infrastructure as code experience using Terraform
- PowerShell and Linux shell scripting experience
- Azure networking, identity, and security fundamentals
- Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline experience
- 5 years of cloud infrastructure engineering experience, including at least one prior brownfield Azure implementation project
- Able to work independently against a defined scope and timeline with minimal ramp-up time
- Strong documentation skills to support a clean operational handoff
- Comfortable operating under a fixed-term, deliverable-driven engagement
Cloud Engineer Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft Azure certification (AZ-104 or AZ-305)
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent technical experience
Cloud Engineer Details:
- Schedule: Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with the infrastructure team
- Pay Rate: Starting at $60/hour
- Duration: 6-month contract to start, with strong potential for extension as additional projects come online
