Job Summary:
The Technician - Engineering will play a key role in ensuring the operational efficiency of manufacturing and facility equipment through maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades. This position involves contractor supervision, project management, and adherence to safety standards. The role requires expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, as well as the ability to read and interpret P&ID, structural, mechanical, and electrical prints. The Technician will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to improve processes and mentor maintenance staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and troubleshooting on manufacturing and facilities equipment.
- Supervise upgrades and modifications to maintain equipment in “As New Status” (function and appearance).
- Identify improvement areas and execute corrective actions.
- Manage and execute small-scale equipment and facility projects.
- Perform and execute Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
- Execute equipment startups, support, and calibrations.
- Supervise contractors (plumbers, electricians, etc.) and coordinate mechanical assemblies.
- Communicate relevant program and engineering discipline information in a timely manner.
- Lead FMEAs for equipment upgrades, changes, or obsolescence.
- Utilize Root Cause Analysis for problem solving and troubleshooting.
- Train and mentor maintenance technicians in troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.
Required Qualifications :
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret P&ID, structural, mechanical, and electrical prints.
- 3–5 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering disciplines, or entry-level experience with a bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Knowledge of engineering principles and commercial components with the ability to apply them.
- Experience with PLC systems.
- Working knowledge of engineering standards and safety codes.
- Familiarity with facility-related infrastructure such as boilers and compressors.
- Technical expertise in mechanical and electrical equipment and processes.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
