Mid-Level Environmental Scientist
Our client, a well-established multidisciplinary land development consulting firm in the DC Metro area, is seeking a Mid-Level Environmental Scientist to join its environmental team. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience conducting wetland and forest stand delineations who enjoys balancing fieldwork, technical reporting, and coordination with regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct wetland delineations, forest stand delineations, stream assessments, and other environmental field investigations.
- Prepare technical reports, environmental assessments, permit applications, and supporting documentation.
- Support federal, state, and local permitting efforts, including Sections 401 and 404, forest conservation, and related environmental regulations.
- Coordinate with engineers, planners, clients, and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, or a related field.
- Approximately 4–8 years of relevant environmental consulting experience.
- Strong experience with wetland and forest stand delineations in Maryland, Virginia, and/or the DC Metro area.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in the field and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
