The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As an HR Payment Coordinator you will have the opportunity to contribute to the success of a critical organization using your experience to support payroll to ensure compliance with rules, regulations, and laws while identifying improvement opportunities. At 3M you will tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of our HR colleagues to enhance the employee experience. Here, you will make an impact by:
Processing and supporting end to end US and Canada payrolls to ensure payroll are delivered accurately and timely. Handle year-end and reporting requirements.
Third party payment processing, remittances, and reconciliation
Identify and recommend process improvement, document requirements for change requests and works closely with Technology and IT team to test, approve, and implement to production while following the established governance process.
Complete SOX and audit requirement.
Supports employees and supervisors’ questions surrounding payroll and time reporting processes.
Strong payroll compliance knowledge while staying abreast of new laws and regulations and enforcing the alignment with these regulations related to payroll and ensuring alignment with Global payroll strategies.
Seek, share, and apply external trend knowledge and relevant information to further enhance HR processes

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
High School degree/GED (completed and verified prior to start) with a minimum of three (3) years experience in Payroll, Human Resources, and/or Finance in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
Payroll experience with SAP and Workday
Ability to extract, analyze and interpret Human Resources/Payroll Data
Solid technology orientation and understanding of Human Resources Systems
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated project management experience
Microsoft Excel including ability to write macros
Work location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
Travel: May include up to 5% domestic
Relocation Assistance: Not authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
