The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Brand Design Principal working on the 3M brand, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Building and managing the development of a world-class design system amplifying the 3M brand in physical and virtual formats that effectively delivers meaningful brand experiences for our customers, employees and stakeholders. Acting as a champion of Design for strategic programs across the company, collaborating closely with business cross-functional teams. Partnering with key leadership and stakeholders to strategize on mid-and long-term business relevant design program identification, direction, and development. Leading the creation of a strong, end user-centered vision for 3M Brand as well as our technologies Working with multiple business group and functional areas within the company to create meaningful and relevant Branded and design offerings. Helping with day-to-day design work as an individual contributor in support of project goals. Leads the design, scope and implementation of experiential brand design programs and research processes and methodologies which contribute to every aspect of design-development projects. Advises and consults with leadership teams to set short to medium term directions an operating plans for the application of environmental brand design and development programs. Utilizes design practices and effective story telling to help business partners and leadership understand strategies and visualize concepts and future opportunities. Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited Institution in a design field Seven (7) combined years of experience in special, environmental, tradeshow or creative strategy and direction for immersive branded experiences in a private, public, government or military environment Five (5) years of experience leading in-house and/or agency creative teams Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: M.S or MFA. in Design, Design Strategy, Design Research,Tradeshow, event planning, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction or a related field or equivalent practical experience Ten (10) years of working with teams and clients to realize completion of programs. Wholistic experiences and components Experience in interior special design or museum design (displays, interactive elements) Experience in managing and directing of cross-functional and creative teams driving collaboration.
