We are seeking an experienced Travel MedSurg/Telemetry Registered Nurse for a 13-week assignment on a dynamic post-surgical and medical telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned travel nurse with proven experience in patient care post-general, orthopedic, GYN, and vascular surgery, as well as managing complex medical conditions. This role requires autonomy in rhythm identification and a commitment to providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse MedSurg/Telemetry patient population, including post-operative and medical patients.
- Autonomously identify and monitor cardiac rhythms every 4 hours (no central monitor tech on unit).
- Manage patients on heparin, TPN, Lasix, Cardizem, and other drip protocols.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and closely monitor patient responses.
- Utilize EPIC EHR for accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Float to other units as needed to provide patient care.
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Massachusetts.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent MedSurg/Telemetry RN experience.
- Travel Experience: Required. First-time travelers will not be considered.
- Certification: AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Technical Skills: EPIC experience is required. Must be proficient in cardiac rhythm identification.
- Residency: Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate. Locals within 50 miles will be considered at a local rate.
