Job Title: Front-End Engineer (Staff & Principal Levels)

Location: Hybrid in Nashville, TN

Compensation: $170,000 – $220,000 base salary (depending on experience and level)

Eligibility: U.S. residents only (due to privacy tech compliance requirements)

What You'll Do

We're hiring a Staff or Principal Front-End Engineer to take ownership of the front-end experience across our client-facing platform, including dashboards, reporting tools, and admin views.

In This Role, You'll

• Lead the development of privacy-first, accessible, and responsive UIs using React
• Collaborate closely with backend, product, and design teams
• Mentor and guide a small team of engineers
• Help define and maintain scalable front-end architecture
• Use AI-assisted tools (e.g., Claude) as part of the prototyping process - with a strong emphasis on testing error handling, edge cases, and state logic to avoid unintended behavior
  
  

This is a highly impactful role shaping a platform used by individuals whose safety and privacy depend on it. A detail-oriented, security-minded mindset is critical.

Basic Qualifications

• 5 years of front-end development experience (Staff level) or 8 years (Principal level)
• Advanced proficiency with React, including React Hooks, component architecture, and state management (Redux, Zustand, etc.)
• Strong fluency in JavaScript/TypeScript, performance tuning, and test frameworks like Jest and React Testing Library
• Experience with interactive UI patterns: forms, real-time updates, animations, etc.
• Familiarity with using AI tools for prototyping or testing UI/UX (e.g., Claude, Cursor), with strong awareness of their limitations and impact on application behavior
• Experience integrating REST APIs
• Strong knowledge of web accessibility and usability principles
• U.S. residency required
• Demonstrated experience mentoring or leading engineers, regardless of title
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python backends (FastAPI, Flask, Django)
• Experience with server-side rendering (preferably NextJS)
• Familiarity with tools like Tailwind and Storybook
• Experience building internal component libraries or design systems
• Knowledge of WCAG/Section 508 accessibility standards
• Experience in privacy tech, security, or highly regulated environments
