Position Summary: The Senior Information Security Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining cybersecurity technologies to strengthen the organization’s overall security posture. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in security best practices, enterprise-level incident response, and defense-in-depth strategies. Day to day here is what you'll be responsible for: Design, deploy, and oversee security controls to protect computer systems, networks, and sensitive information. Manage and maintain security tools through regular updates, agent lifecycle management, and configuration adjustments to ensure optimal performance. Manage firewall policies and configurations, including DMZ setup, NAT translation, SSL decryption, and access control rules. Possesses broad expertise across key technology areas including firewalls, EDR, DLP, networking, cloud environments, and more. Integrate security tools and platforms through APIs and custom scripting to enhance automation and streamline operations. Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine security operations and workflows Define and document system hardening configurations and incident response procedures to support secure and consistent operations. Ensure security documentation is accurate, up to date, and aligned with current practices and technologies. Identify and troubleshoot routine problems with security solutions such as firewalls, SSL decryption and EDR. Contribute to technical investigations, including incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation efforts. Work closely with the Security Operations team to optimize processes and fine-tune security technologies. Support Information Security Engineers by handling complex issues and providing subject matter expertise. Guide and develop junior team members through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and hands-on training. Perform additional responsibilities as required to support team and organizational objectives. What it takes to be successful: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in information security or cybersecurity roles. Security certifications such as those from SANS, (ISC)², or similar organizations are strongly preferred. Experience with regulatory compliance standards such as SOX, GLBA, FFIEC, and familiarity with the CIS Top 20 Security Controls. Experience implementing security controls across on-premises, cloud (AWS, Azure), and hybrid infrastructures. Proven ability to lead complex security projects while collaborating with cross-functional IT teams to implement effective security solutions. It's a must to have these skills to excel: Ability to write and maintain scripts for automation, system integration, and task optimization is required. Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving and task ownership. Effective communicator with the ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Stays current on security trends and applies knowledge to strengthen the organization’s defenses. Proficient in tools and techniques used for incident response and post-incident analysis. Strong interpersonal skills for effective cross-department collaboration. Excels at working independently and as part of a team. Able to manage multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines within established priorities. Collaborates with infrastructure teams to apply security architecture best practices to both new and existing systems. Detail-oriented with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
