Senior Accountant

Arbor Homes, a subsidiary of Clayton Properties Group, a Berkshire Hathaway Company, is seeking a motivated individual to join its Accounting team. We’re looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Senior Accountant who enjoys working in a dynamic, team-focused environment and is excited to contribute to our continued growth. Key Responsibilities - Manage accounting for homebuilding inventory, including review of job costs, permitting costs, lot costs, and inventory classifications. - Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules. - Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting - Analyze expense reports, verify coding accuracy, and ensure entries are recorded properly - Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency - Organize, research, and assign inter-company transactions including monitoring weekly workbook - Assist Controller with month end close Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting - 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within homebuilding, construction, or real estate development. - Understanding of general ledger accounting - Advanced Excel skills, experience with ERP systems preferred - Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines. - Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
