About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Assistant Facilities Maintenance Worker to join our team. This role is essential in keeping our kennel and day camp operations at two locations running smoothly and efficiently. You’ll work closely with the Lead Facilities Manager to support daily upkeep, seasonal tasks, and general maintenance. Candidates should be prepared for physically demanding tasks in a distracting outdoor environment while maintaining safety standards at all times.
Responsibilities
- Assist Lead Facilities Manager with routine property maintenance
- Ensure upkeep of gates and fences for staff and dog safety
- Basic repairs of fences, equipment, plumbing, and buildings
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of facilities, vehicles, tools and other equipment
- Seasonal upkeep – wood clearing, snow removal, log splitting
- Safely and proficiently use large farm equipment, chain saws, power and hand tools
- Perform heavy lifting of supplies or equipment as needed while adhering to safety protocols
Qualifications
- Previous farm or maintenance experience preferred
- Basic mechanical or handyman skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Experience with dogs is a plus
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Must be dependable and punctual
- Able to lift 50lbs
- Valid driver's license - travel to both locations required
