Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor and observe patients’ conditions closely, noting changes in behavior or health status to ensure timely intervention.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal service to promote wellness and comfort.
- Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality.
- Support residents with dementia or Alzheimer's by implementing memory care techniques and ensuring a safe environment.
- Perform light cleaning duties to maintain a hygienic living space, including laundry, room tidying, and sanitation of common areas.
- Document patient progress accurately in care plans and communicate effectively with healthcare teams regarding vital signs, patient observations, and any concerns.
Requirements
- Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing home, or long-term care environments; group home experience is highly valued.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and CPR/First Aid certification.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or memory impairments; familiarity with Alzheimer’s and hospice care is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Excellent communication skills for working collaboratively with healthcare professionals and supporting residents’ social needs.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed for comprehensive resident coverage.
