Job Summary
We are seeking attorneys in law school class years 2019 – 2022 to join our IP Litigation team. Qualified applicants will have top law school credentials and IP/patent litigation experience. Undergraduate degrees in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering or similar degrees are highly preferred, as is CAFC clerkship experience. Experience with PTAB disputes also a plus.
The annual compensation range for this position is between $260,000 and $390,000. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations. Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Attorney specializing in Intellectual Property (IP) Litigation to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various areas of law, including patent law, litigation, and legal research, with the ability to manage complex cases related to intellectual property disputes. This role offers an opportunity to work on high-profile cases within a collaborative law office environment, providing valuable experience in both federal and state courts. Candidates should have excellent writing skills, legal drafting expertise, and proficiency with legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
Duties
- Lead and manage IP litigation cases, including patent disputes, trademark infringements, and trade secret violations.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using LexisNexis, Westlaw, and other legal databases to support case strategies.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents with precision and clarity.
- Develop case strategies through negotiation and advocacy to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their IP portfolios and litigation objectives.
- Coordinate discovery processes, including document review and depositions.
- Stay current on developments in IP law, including patent law, securities law, family law, environmental law, tribal law & regulations, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, estate planning, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, and others as needed.
- Manage all aspects of litigation from inception through resolution while maintaining compliance with court procedures.
- Utilize legal administrative experience to ensure case files are organized and deadlines are met efficiently.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; admission to the state bar is required.
- Proven experience in litigation with a focus on intellectual property law; prior work in patent law is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clear and persuasive legal documents.
- Demonstrated expertise in legal drafting and courtroom advocacy.
- Experience with negotiation strategies in complex legal disputes.
- Familiarity with a broad spectrum of legal areas including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, workers' compensation law, personal injury law.
- Legal administrative experience to support case management activities effectively.
- Strong research skills combined with the ability to analyze complex legal issues efficiently.
