Our client is a leading fitness equipment company! They are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Prototype Shop Assistant to join their dynamic team.
In this role, you will support the work of the prototype and test labs by assisting with the day to day operations of the lab, light assembly work, and general shop upkeep. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for hands-on work and a desire to work in a technology focused shop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Perform mechanical assembly work on fitness equipment, test fixtures and office
- Assist with testing and troubleshooting of prototypes
- Prepare and maintain tools and equipment for prototyping tasks.
- Collaborate with engineers and other lab technicians to understand project requirements and timelines.
- Occasional facilities maintenance support as required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus.
- Experience with basic hand tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new techniques and technologies
Bonus Experience:
- Familiarity with CAD software or other design tools
- Experience in woodworking, metalworking, or other fabrication techniques
- Experience with 3D printing
- Previous experience in a prototype or fabrication shop
