Overview
We're seeking an experienced Account Director to join a fast-paced consumer lifestyle PR agency, leading integrated communications programs for a portfolio of nationally recognized brands. This role is ideal for a strategic communications leader who excels at developing earned media campaigns, shaping creative ideas through an earned media lens, and building compelling narratives that generate impactful coverage.
The Director will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, lead account teams, contribute to new business efforts, and mentor junior staff while partnering cross-functionally to deliver innovative campaigns.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day strategy and execution across multiple consumer brand accounts.
- Develop integrated communications strategies with a strong emphasis on earned media.
- Translate creative ideas into compelling media narratives and culturally relevant campaigns.
- Build and maintain relationships with top-tier media, influencers, and industry contacts.
- Provide strategic counsel to clients and serve as a senior point of contact.
- Lead development of presentations, campaign proposals, messaging, and client-facing materials.
- Oversee media strategy, story development, and proactive pitching efforts.
- Partner with internal creative, strategy, and account teams to deliver integrated campaigns.
- Mentor and develop junior team members while fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Support new business initiatives, including pitch strategy, presentation development, and client presentations.
- Manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced agency environment.
Qualifications
- 7–9 years of public relations experience, with the majority in an agency environment.
- Experience supporting consumer brands within CPG, hospitality, spirits, fashion, QSR, or travel.
- Demonstrated success leading earned media campaigns and securing high-impact media coverage.
- Strong media relationships and exceptional media relations skills.
- Proven experience developing strategic communications plans and client presentations.
- Excellent storytelling, writing, and presentation skills.
- Experience managing client relationships and leading cross-functional teams.
- Ability to mentor junior staff while maintaining a high standard of work.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative agency environment with multiple concurrent accounts.
