What You’ll Do
- Oversee the color mastering process from design hand-off through production sign-off for all A-surface materials
- Lead physical sample reviews and visual alignment sessions with internal teams and suppliers
- Develop and manage master standards across various material types (e.g., paint chips, texture plaques, vinyl samples)
- Troubleshoot and resolve color matching issues to meet manufacturing tolerances and timelines
- Maintain an organized physical library of approved finishes for internal reference
- Partner closely with CMF design, engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment
- Support R&D efforts in developing new finishes and color technologies
- Assist with documentation for release and production support
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Materials Engineering, Color Science, or a related field
- 3 years of experience in color development, material specification, or visual quality control (automotive, powersports, or consumer products industries preferred)
- Exceptional eye for color, texture, and finish; ability to evaluate under varying lighting conditions
- Familiarity with color matching processes, manufacturing tolerances, and visual evaluation tools (light booths, gloss meters, spectrophotometers a plus)
- Excellent communication and documentation skills with the confidence to lead internal reviews and supplier negotiations
- Seamless production launches with zero color-related delays
- High fidelity between original design vision and final manufactured product
- A clear, up-to-date library of color and finish standards accessible by cross-functional teams
- Strong cross-team alignment and proactive issue resolution throughout development
